Dr. George (Jorge) Monray is an international business strategist, professor, researcher, and executive consultant with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations improve strategic decision-making, leadership effectiveness, international growth, and organizational performance.
His career uniquely combines executive leadership, international entrepreneurship, top-tier HR consulting, and university education. Before entering academia full time, he held senior management positions at Hay Group (now Korn Ferry), where he specialized in marketing, organizational strategy, and human capital consulting for multinational organizations in Spain. This experience provides him with a practical understanding of how strategy, leadership, talent, and organizational design create competitive advantage.
As Founder of Econtime Human Capital, Dr. Monray advises organizations on the economic value of flexible work, productivity, workforce strategy, and the future of work. His research introduces innovative methodologies that quantify the hidden economic value employees receive from flexible work arrangements, enabling organizations to make better compensation, retention, and HR policy decisions.
Throughout his international career he has founded and managed businesses in Europe and Southeast Asia while advising companies across manufacturing, consumer goods, technology, and international trade. His professional experience includes executive and consulting roles serving organizations such as Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, SC Johnson, Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive, Cadbury Schweppes, Staedtler, YKK, Aviko, Kettal, and many other multinational companies.
Academic Leadership
Dr. Monray is Head of the Business and Economics Department at the Institute for American Universities and the American College of the Mediterranean, where he teaches International Business, Strategic Management, Economics, and Finance to students from leading U.S. universities. He has also taught MBA and executive programs at institutions including IESE Business School, ESADE, ESIC, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, NIDA Business School (Thailand), Kasetsart University and UPH (Indonesia). His experience is shared amonth three continents.
