Executive Profile

Dr. George (Jorge) Monray is an international business strategist, professor, researcher, and executive consultant with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations improve strategic decision-making, market research, leadership effectiveness, international growth, and organizational performance.

His career uniquely combines executive leadership, international entrepreneurship, top-tier consulting, and university education. Before entering academia, he held management position at Hay Group (now Korn Ferry), where he specialized in marketing, corporate strategy, and human capital consulting for multinational organizations in Spain. This experience provides him with a practical understanding of how strategy, leadership, talent, and organizational design create competitive advantage.

Actually, as Founder and CEO of Econtime Human Capital and SAA Analytics, Dr. Monray advises organizations on the economic value of flexible work, and global professional competences.  His past research has been mainly oriented to business strategy, market development,  international business and human capital. 

Throughout his international career he has founded and managed businesses in Europe and Southeast Asia while advising companies across manufacturing, consumer goods, technology, and international trade. His professional experience includes executive and consulting roles serving client organizations such as HP, YKK, Procter & Gamble, SC Johnson, Grifols, Unilever, Colgate-Palmolive, Cadbury Schweppes, Staedtler, YKK, Aviko, Kettal, Lippo Group among others.

Academic Leadership

Dr. Monray is Head of the Business and Economics Department at the Institute for American Universities  (Barcelona Campus), where he lectures Microeconomics, International Business and Strategic Management, to students from leading U.S. universities such as Southern Methodist University (Dallas), University of Arizona or University of Nebraska at Lincoln . He has also taught MBA and executive programs at leading institutions including Swiss Business School, ESADE, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, ESIC, Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, NIDA Business School (Thailand), Kasetsart University and UPH (Indonesia). His experience spans three continents.

Having completed IESE Business School's prestigious International Faculty Development Program, he specializes in highly interactive M.B.A teaching, executive education, case-method instruction, and leadership development.
